DESCRIPTION: Mount St. Michel is an outcropping of rock in the middle of a Bay close to the border of Brittany and Normandy. This fortified city is a vertical climb up to the monastery at the very top. Since the city and mount is a part time island (the tide turns the city into a peninsula and an island every day) the castle and medieval city is very well maintained.
