Carole Herdegen, freelance travel writer, photographer, lecturer and broadcast journalist, resides in the Greater Detroit area of Michigan.
For more than two decades, she has traveled the world specializing in adventure travel. From crossing China's Gobi Desert by camel, spelunking the underwater Mayan caves of Belize, leading her own dog team across the Arctic Circle, visiting the primitive tribes in Papua New Guinea and climbing Africa's highest mountain, Mt.
